Veneers

Are you concerned that stains, discoloration, or other issues are affecting the appearance of your smile? Dental veneers could be just what you’re looking for. We provide top veneers in Central Jersey that can provide you with the bright, straighter, and perfect smile you need for effortless confidence.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are a thin layer of porcelain that is applied to the front surface of a tooth. They’re custom-made by a dental laboratory to match your natural teeth and give you a bright, natural, beautiful smile. Our highly trained cosmetic dentists are well-versed in non-invasive, minimal-drill veneers.

Your Veneers Process

During your first visit, which is the consultation visit, we take X-rays to make sure the teeth are healthy and there are no cavities. We go over your smile, discuss what is important to you, and determine how to achieve the smile that you want. We take as much time as necessary to understand your vision of how you want your teeth to look.

The second visit is the smile design visit where we start the process of designing your new smile. We take pictures of your existing teeth and face. We also scan your upper and lower teeth and your existing bite to create a digital impression. The scans, digital impression and photos are sent digitally to our world-renowned lab partner and together, we design your new smile. A smile prototype is created to give you a sense of how your smile can look. The digital smile prototype is essentially the blueprint for your smile makeover.

During the third visit, we shape the existing teeth if needed, remove any cavities or old fillings, and place the prototype over your existing teeth. For many patients, we only have to do minimal shaping of the teeth. The amount of shaping is determined by the measurements taken at the second visit and our state-of-the-art technology. This digital pre-planning allows us to preserve as much tooth structure as possible, removing only a thin layer of enamel. The shaping of the teeth allows the veneer to sit perfectly flat with the surface of the tooth so that your veneers do not appear too thick or bulky. The prototype will remain in your mouth for three weeks while the final veneers are created in our dental lab.

At your fourth visit, we remove the prototype and place the custom-made, porcelain veneers on your teeth. Once you approve them, we bond them permanently to your teeth. You will also receive a complimentary night guard.

Why Choose Veneers?

Veneers are a cosmetic dentistry treatment that can improve your smile in many ways. Many people choose dental veneers to revitalize stained or discolored teeth. Porcelain veneers look like natural teeth, and other types of veneers can also provide a natural appearance.

Veneers aren’t just for discolored teeth, either. They’re often a great solution for cracked, chipped or misshapen teeth. Veneers can restore the appearance of damaged teeth quickly and simply. As long as cracks or chips aren’t deep enough to create a risk of infection within the tooth, veneers can have your teeth looking as good as new.

If you have a tooth that is misshapen or too small, veneers can also correct that issue. The same is true for small gaps between teeth when there isn’t a need for orthodontic correction. Veneers can deal with slightly crooked teeth to provide a much straighter-looking smile.

Veneers are a safe and effective option that maintains and protects your dental health. Only a thin layer of enamel is removed in the process, so your natural teeth are only minimally affected by the veneers. You can restore your smile without causing any impact on the long-term health of your teeth.

Different Types of Veneers

Porcelain veneers are generally considered to be the most natural-looking type of veneers, but that doesn’t mean they’re the right choice for every situation. Other types of veneers can also provide excellent results.

Composite resin veneers use the same type of material as dental bonding and composite fillings. This procedure requires less enamel removal, with the dentist only needing to etch the surface of the tooth to prepare.

The composite resin can be carefully matched to the natural shade of your teeth and sculpted to the optimal shape.

No-prep veneers are another option. The procedure can be completed in just one visit, although no-prep veneers might not match your natural teeth as well as lab-made custom veneers.
